The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that there will be no extension in the deadline for submitting income tax returns for the 2025 fiscal year.

Tax officials said the deadline remains September 30, covering income earned between July 2024 and June 2025. A user-friendly tax return form has been launched to help individuals and associations of persons complete their filings with greater ease.

The FBR stressed that residents who stay in Pakistan for at least 183 days within the year are obligated to file returns. Salaried employees, pensioners, and other taxpayers must declare all sources of income, including property earnings, bank profits, dividends, and services.

In addition, the return form requires detailed information on taxes already withheld, along with deductions and credits available to the filer. Citizens must also disclose their bank accounts, properties, and other personal assets.

The tax authority has cautioned taxpayers against delaying submission and underlined that penalties may apply in case of late filing.
