Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a significant decline on Wednesday, following movement in the international bullion market.
Data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association showed that the price of 24-karat gold per tola dropped by Rs. 1,400, closing at Rs. 355,200 compared with Rs. 356,600 the previous day.
The rate of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs. 1,201 to Rs. 304,526, while the price for 22-karat stood at Rs. 279,158 after losing Rs. 1,101.
Silver also lost value, as per-tola rates went down by Rs. 96 to Rs. 3,935, and the 10-gram price fell by Rs. 82 to Rs. 3,373.
The downward shift echoed global trends. In the international market, gold declined by $14 to $3,325 per ounce from $3,339, while silver slipped to $37.02 after a fall of $0.96.
