inDrive, the global mobility platform known for its peer-to-peer pricing model, has reported a four-fold year-on-year growth in its City-to-City service across Pakistan. The intercity service is now popular among drivers and passengers, especially on routes like Lahore to Islamabad, Lahore to Gujranwala, Karachi to Hyderabad, and to smaller cities like Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mardan, and Okara.

The company noted a surge in bookings during the summer vacation season, with trips to tourist hotspots like Murree witnessing a 75% increase between April and June. Fridays through Sundays are consistently the most active days, driven by weekend travel plans and short getaways.

For drivers, the service is proving to be a high-earning opportunity. Top-performing drivers on inDrive’s busiest route, Lahore to Islamabad, are earning between PKR 300,000 to PKR 350,000 per month after expenses.

“The rapid growth in our City-to-City rides reflects a shift in how people move and earn in Pakistan,” said Awais Saeed, Country Head at inDrive Pakistan. “We’re seeing more passengers use inDrive for the control it offers. On the flip side, intercity offers drivers a reliable source of income, who often earn well above the market average. This is the core of our model: giving people the freedom to choose what works best for them, and in doing so, enabling their economic empowerment.”

Many passengers are now using the ride-sharing option within the app, allowing them to carpool and split costs with friends and colleagues. Passengers pay only for their seat, just like public transport, but enjoy a more spacious, private, and convenient door-to-door experience without the hassle of stations. Drivers benefit from the inDrive’s City-to-City smart matching algorithm, which suggests up to four passengers per trip to help fill seats faster and maximize earnings. Those already on a route also get priority access to new ride requests, securing more bookings with less effort.

On average, city-to-city drivers complete 2 to 4 rides per day, with longer routes typically seeing up to 2 rides and shorter ones seeing up to 4 rides daily. The flexibility of inDrive’s model allows both parties to negotiate fares directly, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to freedom of choice and fair pricing.

Beyond numbers, inDrive’s broader mission is to empower individuals through economic opportunity and freedom of choice. By offering a low-cost entry point for drivers and a pricing model rooted in fairness and transparency, inDrive is helping micro-entrepreneurs across Pakistan earn on their own terms: whether it’s a full-time livelihood or supplementary income to support their families.
