The government is preparing to launch a comprehensive Tractor Policy as part of its broader plan to stimulate industrial growth and modernize agriculture.
The policy, under final review, is expected to address regulatory duties, improve exports, and provide structural support to the tractor industry, which remains vital to Pakistan’s farming economy.
At a meeting between Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Finance, Haroon Akhtar Khan, and the CEO of Millat Tractors, discussions centered on policy development, industry challenges, and sustainability. Mr. Khan assured stakeholders that their input will be incorporated, ensuring inclusivity and transparency in the final draft.
He underlined the industry’s importance in supporting farmers and raising agricultural productivity. “The Tractor Policy will provide a long-term framework aligned with global best practices,” he said, adding that it would help the sector overcome hurdles and build resilience.
The initiative forms part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of a “new industrial revolution,” aimed at equipping Pakistan’s key sectors with tools for global competitiveness.
