Umairi viral video controversy has gripped Pakistani social media, with an explicit leaked clip often referred to as the “Umairi leak” or “Umairi viral video” sparking intense debates on digital privacy, consent, and cybercrime. Police arrested Umair Butt, the man allegedly featured in the video, on charges of leaking objectionable content involving a married woman.

The scandal erupted in early January 2026 when short clips and screenshots from a purportedly private video, approximately 7 minutes and 11 seconds long, began circulating rapidly on platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Users nicknamed the individual “Umairi” or “Mairi,” turning the incident into memes and trending hashtags.

Details of the Umairi Viral Video Leak:

Reports describe the footage as showing Umair Butt in an intimate encounter with a married woman. In the clip, the woman allegedly expresses dissatisfaction with her marriage, while Umair mentions financial constraints preventing them from marrying. The video’s spread has fueled victim-blaming, sarcastic “hero” portrayals of Umair, and calls for his release in some online circles.

Authorities acted swiftly after complaints from the woman’s family. Police confirmed Umair Butt’s arrest for distributing the non-consensual material, highlighting violations under Pakistan’s Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
