The National Apex Committee, during its recent meeting chaired by Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, has taken a definitive stance to expel foreigners residing in Pakistan without legal authorization. This decision comes amidst a surge in terrorist attacks, including incidents in Mastung and Hangu, and reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing national security.

The high-profile meeting, which brought together key stakeholders, featured Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, chief ministers from all four provinces, as well as representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Furthermore, senior security officials provided a comprehensive briefing on recent terrorist activities in Pakistan, shedding light on the pressing need for decisive action.

The meeting also delved into the measures being taken to combat terrorism within Pakistan’s borders, as well as efforts to address the issue of illegal immigration. As part of these deliberations, the National Apex Committee decided to establish a deadline for the departure of foreign nationals residing illegally in Pakistan. Once this deadline has passed, their properties will be subject to seizure, reinforcing the government’s determination to address this challenge head-on.

Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism during his visit to Quetta. He underscored that the armed forces operations against terrorists would continue without respite until the menace of terrorism is entirely eradicated from the country.

These developments follow recent terrorist attacks in Mastung and Zhob, where Pakistan’s security forces have been resolute in their response. The briefing in Quetta was attended by Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, key provincial ministers, and senior civil and military officials.

COAS Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and condemned the heinous acts of terror, emphasizing that these attacks on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal revealed the insidious intentions of the Khawarij, who are supported by state sponsors of terrorism.

As Pakistan grapples with the challenges posed by terrorism and illegal immigration, the decision of the National Apex Committee to evict illegal foreign residents underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens and enhancing national security. It also reflects the close coordination and cooperation between civil and military authorities in addressing these pressing issues.

In the coming days and weeks, the implementation of this decision will be closely monitored, with a focus on ensuring a fair and lawful process for addressing the presence of illegal foreign nationals within Pakistan’s borders. The government’s efforts to combat terrorism and secure the nation’s stability will continue to be a top priority.

The National Apex Committee’s decision to expel illegal foreign residents represents a significant step forward in addressing critical security concerns facing Pakistan. With the commitment of both civilian and military leadership, Pakistan is poised to enhance its national security and protect its citizens from the threats posed by terrorism and unauthorized immigration.
