Spotify reveals pakistan preferences

Spotify recently released data about its users in Pakistan, revealing some interesting insights into the music preferences of listeners across the country. Atif Aslam was found to be the most streamed local artist in Pakistan, followed by Young Stunners, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Hassan Raheem, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. However, the data also showed that music tastes vary regionally.

In Sindh, Atif Aslam is also a popular artist, along with Young Stunners, Hassan Raheem, Asim Azhar, and Abdul Hannan. Pasoori is the most streamed track in Karachi and Hyderabad, while King’s Tu Aake Dekh Le and Iraaday, Bikhra, and Dhillon’s Excuses are also popular. In Punjab, Pasoori remains a top track in multiple cities, along with Excuses and Insane by AP Dhillon, 295 by Sidhu Moosewala, and Bikhra. Kahani Suno 2.0 by Kaifi Khalil has also received love across Punjab.

Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa show their love for Asim Azhar, while Atif Aslam takes the top spot in both regions. Eva B’s Kana Yaari is a popular track in Quetta, Balochistan. Surprisingly, K-pop has also gained a significant following in Pakistan, with BTS being among the top five most streamed artists in Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Balochistan. Sukkur, in particular, has a large BTS ARMY, with three out of the top five most streamed songs being K-pop.

Overall, the data shows that music consumption in Pakistan is evolving, with audiences enjoying a variety of local and international artists and genres. It highlights the changing perspectives of music consumption in the country and how streaming services like Spotify are facilitating this change.
