Karachi Gears Up for ICC Champions Trophy Matches with Traffic Plan in Place

Karachi is set to welcome cricket action as the city prepares to host three Champions Trophy matches at the National Stadium today.

This marks the first time that country hosts major ICC event since co-hosting the 1996 Cricket World Cup.

Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match of the event, running from February 19 to March 9 across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai.

Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B features Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.

Authorities in Karachi have issued a detailed traffic and parking plan to manage the expected influx of cricket enthusiasts.

Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain accessible, but heavy vehicles will be restricted on routes leading to the stadium.

Spectators can park at designated spots, including the National Coaching Centre, Expo Centre, and China Ground.

Stadium gates will open three hours before matches, with specific gates reserved for general public and VIP pass holders.

It is also reported that the Vehicles with CNG cylinders will not be allowed on National Stadium premises.

Officials have advised fans to follow the traffic guidelines to ensure smooth access to the venue during the tournament.
