Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, and Mohammad Rizwan, the vice-captain of the Pakistan Test team, have achieved yet another milestone in their cricket careers. Following their impressive performances on the field, the duo has become the first cricketers ever to join Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Programme on The Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports (BEMS).

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this groundbreaking news in a press release, highlighting that Babar and Rizwan will be mentored by Talha Rehmani, the Founder and CEO of Saya Corporation, as they embark on this unique educational journey.

By joining the esteemed list of participants, which includes renowned figures like Gerard Piqué, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Channing Tatum, and LL Cool J, Babar, and Rizwan will represent Pakistan and the cricketing world among influential personalities from the realms of sports, media, and entertainment.

The Harvard BEMS program, scheduled to take place from May 31 to June 3 in Boston, Massachusetts, will offer the cricketers an opportunity to engage with industry leaders, learn from renowned faculty members, and network with fellow participants. Additionally, they will participate in community activities in the United States until June 13, further enriching their experience.

Expressing their excitement and enthusiasm, both cricketers emphasized the value of continuous learning and the desire to contribute to the global community. Babar, the top-ranked ODI batter worldwide, shared his motivation for joining the program, stating his eagerness to connect with and learn from exceptional athletes and business executives from various corners of the world.

Rizwan, the second-ranked men’s T20i batsman globally, expressed his pride in representing Pakistan on such a prestigious platform. He highlighted the opportunity to learn from the best in the world while sharing their own journey and experiences. Rizwan believes this unique opportunity will contribute to the development of future cricket superstars.

Professor Anita Elberse, the program chair, expressed her delight in welcoming Babar and Rizwan to Harvard Business School and the BEMS program. She recognized their status as world-class athletes with a keen interest in the business world, acknowledging the valuable insights they will bring to the program and their fellow participants.

This groundbreaking achievement by Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan further solidifies their positions as trailblazers in the world of cricket. As they embark on this educational journey at Harvard, they will undoubtedly gain invaluable knowledge and contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of sports, media, and entertainment.
