The event brought together Chinese Charge d’Affaires Pang Chunxue, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Director General of Foreign Service Academy Mazhar Javed, former Pakistani ambassadors to China, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistani young diplomats, and Chinese diplomats.

In her speech, Pang highlighted the deep historical roots, unwavering public support, and practical needs that underpin the China-Pakistan relationship. She underscored China’s commitment to advancing Chinese modernization under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping. Pang further expressed China’s determination to provide new development opportunities for countries, including Pakistan, through its ongoing modernization efforts.

The foreign secretary of Pakistan acknowledged the significant contributions of generations of diplomats from both countries to the enduring friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan. He expressed gratitude for China’s consistent and generous support in areas such as Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, financial stability, and infrastructure development. He specifically praised the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for its positive impact on Pakistan’s economy and society.

Mazhar Javed, Director General of the Foreign Service Academy, emphasized that the bilateral relations between Beijing and Islamabad have been nurtured over the past 72 years. He highlighted the invaluable opportunities for exchange and learning between the younger generations arising from the comprehensive cooperation between China and Pakistan.

Former ambassadors to China shared their cherished memories of their time in China and stressed the importance of strengthening the unbreakable friendship between the two nations. They called for further promoting comprehensive and pragmatic cooperation to elevate the bilateral relationship to new heights.

The event showcased the enduring bond between China and Pakistan and highlighted the mutual benefits derived from their strong partnership. China’s commitment to its own modernization and its willingness to extend development opportunities to countries, including Pakistan, reaffirm the depth of their relationship. Pakistan expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support, particularly through initiatives like the CPEC that have significantly contributed to the nation’s progress.

As China and Pakistan commemorate 72 years of diplomatic ties, their shared vision for the future emphasizes continued collaboration and strengthened friendship.
